I am post-doctoral researcher in astrophysics at Leiden Observatory. I am interested in stellar rotation, observable signatures of coronal mass ejection modelling, and the role of space weather in determining the habitability of extrasolar planets. To study these phenomena I often use high-performance computers and three-dimensional numerical codes such as the Space Weather Modelling Framework developed at the University of Michigan.

In my Ph.D. project at the University of Southern Queensland we produced the largest atlas of three-dimensional wind maps of young, Sun-like stars to date. The wind maps were based on magnetic maps of the stellar photosphere, obtained by Folsom et al. (2016, 2018) with Zeeman-Doppler Imaging (ZDI). We then used three-dimensional numerical (SWMF/BATSRUS) simulations to produce stellar wind maps covering the stellar corona and astrosphere. The project combined solar physics, space physics, astronomy, and numerical simulations and the results were published in a series of papers (Evensberget et al. 2021, 2022, 2023).
